Hollywood actor Kirk Douglas reportedly donates his entire £61 million fortune to charity, leaving his son Michael Douglas nothing of his fortune.

Kirk Douglas died at his home at the age of 103 and laid to rest on February 7, Mirror finds out that he left his entire £61 Michael million fortune to charity and his son, Michael, a Hollywood star who has his own net worth of about $300 million was left with nothing.

According to the Mirror, some of the beneficiaries include St Lawrence University, the Sinai Temple of Los Angeles, the Kirk Douglas Theater and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Kirk is survived by Anne, who is his second wife, and three of his four sons: Michael, Joel, and Peter.

Blue Passports To Be Issued To Brits For The First Time In Decades Next Month

Blue passports will be issued for the first time in almost three decades from next month to mark Britain’s departure from the European Union.

Championed by Brexiteers, the new-look documents will replace the burgundy passports which were rolled out in 1988.

The contract to produce the passports was controversially awarded to French firm Thales, but the documents will continue to be personalised with the holder’s details in the UK.

The first new passports will be issued from the beginning of March, and by mid-2020 all new passports will be blue, the Government anticipates.

As well as the colour change, the back cover of the new passports will now feature embossed floral emblems of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The new passports are said to be the greenest and most technologically advanced yet, with new and updated security features to keep personal data secure.

Blue passports were first used in 1921, and remained the colour of choice until the UK joined the EU (then the European Economic Community) and a change to burgundy was later agreed to harmonise designs across member states.

Burgundy passports can still be used for travel until they expire.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said that by returning to the ‘iconic’ blue and gold design, the passports will ‘once again be entwined with our national identity’.

She said: ‘Leaving the European Union gave us a unique opportunity to restore our national identity and forge a new path in the world.

‘By returning to the iconic blue and gold design, the British passport will once again be entwined with our national identity and I cannot wait to travel on one.’

Singer Eedris Abdulkareem Arrested For Beating Landlord Over Unpaid Electricity Bill

Veteran musician, Eedris AbdulKareem, was last week arrested for allegedly beating up his landlord, Oladipo Abimbola, over an unpaid N535,000 accumulated electricity bill on January 3, 2020, at Valley Estate, Ikeja, Lagos.

The singer was said to have forced his way into his landlord’s compound in order to beat and strangle him for instructing officials of Ikeja Electricity Destribution ( IKED) to disconnect his house.

The Landlord said he never knew the apartment was rented by the singer as it was his wife who came for the accommodation.

The singer has since denied attempting to assault the man. He alleged that his landlord had sexually harassed his wife in his absence and that all efforts to make him stop failed. .

He also claimed that his landlord had once been arrested for a previous case of sexual harassment against a female tenant. .

He said the Landlord frequently encroached on their side of the compound without permission. The case is still ongoing.

Marriage Is Not An Achievement,It Is Overrated – Mercy Aigbe

Nollywood Actress Mercy Aigbe, has said marriage is overrated and not an achievement. The mom of two who has been married twice, second marriage to Lanre Gentry, but got separated from hum in 2018, amidst allegations of domestic violence, said mothers usually bring up women to take whatever their partners do to them, all because they want them to stay married.




She made this known on her YouTube channel while recounting her marital experience . She said, “Our mothers brought us up, as women, to take whatever our partners do to us. They tell us to take it because we want to remain in a man’s house. To me, it is not an achievement. Let’s just say as it is– marriage is overrated. It takes two people to make it work; it’s not just about the women. But, everybody keeps heaping all the responsibilities on the woman. That shouldn’t be.”


She went ahead to reveal more about her abusive ex husband , “The first time the slap came, it felt like I was dreaming. I wasn’t expecting it and I was shocked beyond words. I didn’t know it was going to happen but it happened. The begging would then come after that. Once a man raises his hand to hit you, he is going to do it over and again. However, because it was my second attempt (at marriage), I was ready to make it work, even with all the violence. I was there hoping and praying. I just wanted a happy home.

“The incident that broke the camel’s back was the one where I almost died. The beating was horrible. People often say actresses don’t want to remain married. Who told them that? (You think) being a celebrity doesn’t make me human? Does (being a celebrity) mean I don’t want to have a happy home? They say actresses are promiscuous but promiscuity is not (the exclusive preserve of) any profession. When mine (break-up) happened, it wasn’t easy because I am a celebrity. I read a lot of things online. Some people even said I made it up. But, nobody can dictate to me how to live my life.”


The actress also noted that religion doesn’t encourage women to speak up when they are assaulted by their husbands. She added, “I have been through domestic violence and I came out strong. I would love to see the end of domestic violence in society. It wasn’t easy for me because society always shames one. Everybody believes if one is experiencing domestic violence, one has to be patient as a woman and take it all to remain in one’s husband’s house. A lot of people have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence. And religion is not helping. An assaulted woman could go to her pastor and the cleric would say, ‘Oh madam, you need to keep praying’. Is it until she loses her life?”

Sean Kingston Detained Over 'Weapon'' Possession

The 30-year-old rapper - who worked with Justin Bieber in 2010 - was enjoying a meal at Dino's Chicken & Burgers in Los Angeles at 8:15 pm when officers received a call that a male was flashing a gun, according to TMZ.

Authorities arrived immediately and ordered at least one male on the ground and escorted Sean in handcuffs to their police car.

No gun or weapon was found and the Fire Burning singer was released following questioning.

However, not all appeared to be smooth sailing for Sean and his pals while they enjoyed their chicken burgers on Saturday night.

According to eye-witnesses, restaurant goers were frustrated with Sean as he had parked his car blocking the exit so no one was able to leave.

Coronavirus Claims 97 Lives In ONE DAY.. Highest So Far

The number of people killed by the new coronavirus rose by 97 on Sunday, the highest number of casualties in a day.

The total number of deaths in China is now 908 - but the number of newly-infected people per day has stabilised.

Across China, 40,171 people are infected while 187,518 are under medical observation.

Meanwhile, 60 more people have tested positive on a cruise ship quarantined in Japan - meaning 130 out of 3,700 passengers have caught the virus.


The Diamond Princess ship is on a two-week quarantine off Yokohama, after a passenger - who earlier disembarked in Hong Kong - tested positive.

The infected passengers have been taken off board and treated in nearby hospitals.

Sanwo-Olu Gives N20K Each To 315 Returnees From South Africa

Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Wednesday gave N20,000 to each of the second batch of 315 Nigerians evacuated from South Africa.

The fresh batch of returnees arrived a week after another 187 Nigerians fleeing xenophobia came back from South Africa.

The joyous returnees arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 7.21p.m aboard an Air Peace B777 aircraft with registration number 5N-BWI.

The flight, which originated from the OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg was received by Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission and Air Peace Chairman, Mr Allen Onyema.

Osinbajo’s office has been rendered useless, impotent and irrelevant, Afenifere claims

Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, says from the look of things, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s office has been rendered useless, impotent and irrelevant.

It, however, said it would be too early to speculate if Osinbajo’s “ordeal” was caused by any misdemeanor on his part or if it was based on permutations ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The spokesman for Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, said this during an interview with The Punch on Wednesday.

He said, “We are watching as events unfold. We are studying the situation, but we must also not muddle up issues. For now, we will not jump into any premature conclusion that this is about 2023 alone.


“We will need more information to know whether it is political or whether there was abuse of office or process.

“But the barrage of the last 48 hours shows that there is something wrong.

“We will wait to have all the facts because we don’t want to say a Yoruba man is being attacked.

“They may have had a justifiable reason to do so; but we are taking note of every development and at the appropriate time, we will make our position known.

“But clearly, what has happened is that the VP’s office has been rendered impotent, useless and irrelevant.”

Nigerian gets six life terms and 129 years for human trafficking in South Africa

On Wednesday, the Gauteng High Court found Ediozi Odi, a Nigerian national, guilty of human trafficking and sentenced him to the ultimate maximum sentence allowed -- six life terms and an additional 129 years.

Based on information documented by Zelda Venter, an IOL News journalist that has covered the case extensively, Ediozi Odi is a Nigerian national who operated a brothel in Springs, a metro in the east side of Ekurhuleni, South Africa.

There is not much else to know about Odi. He ran a s-x dungeon that was masqueraded as general store slash barbershop.


He and his co-accused, Nomsa Hlalele and Luke Botha faced 20+ charges related to human trafficking and other sx crimes for their direct involvement in using three girls, aged between 13 and 14, as s-x slaves.

During the trial, which was close-off to the public due to its personal nature and the fact that the victims who were also witnesses -- were still considered minors, the court heard testimony on how Odi’s mules, Hlalele and Botha were instrumental in luring the three girls.

It’s believed that they targeted girls from poor, impoverished communities, with a promise of a better life and an opportunity to work their way out of poverty.

However, once they were placed in the clutches of Odi, they soon realised the true extent of the horrific nightmare they had gotten themselves in.

The court, chaired by Judge Natvarlil Ranchod, heard that Odi used crack cocaine -- that he peddled in his house of horrors -- to turn the girls into drug addicts and dangled it as a prize for their cooperation in selling their bodies to men who visited the brothel.

Fortunately, two of the girls who had been held hostage in the brothel found a way to escape and they alerted the police who led an operation to rescue the third girl.

While the state of the three girls has yet to be revealed, Judge Natvarlil Ranchod could not hold back his disstate for the heinous crimes Odi committed.

He gave the Nigerian national the harshest sentence possible -- six life terms with an additional 129 years behind bars.

Osinbajo presides over National Economic Council

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is currently presiding over the monthly National Economic Council (NEC) at the State House, Abuja.

Mr. Laolu Akande, the spokesperson to Prof. Osinbajo, revealed this through his twitter handle.

He noted that state governors, the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor and some members of the Federal Executive Council were in attendance.


“Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is now presiding over the monthly National Economic Council, NEC meeting with state governor, CBN Governor and some members of the FEC,” he tweeted.

He then added that, “NEC is the constitutional body that advises the President on the coordination of economic affairs of the Nigerian federation.

CAN Asks President Buhari To Ban Miyetti Allah

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has asked President Buhari to ban the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), an umbrella association of herdsmen in the country.
The association also called on the president to “completely scrap” the suspended ‘Ruga’grazing scheme. CAN made the request at the Church leaders stakeholders’ summit, themed, ‘RUGA: The church’s response in the 21st century,’ which was held in Lagos on Saturday.

Samson Ayokunle, CAN president, was quoted as saying the association came up with the recommendations after setting up a committee to look into the Ruga grazing scheme and related issues. He accused MACBAN of supporting some herdsmen fingered in various attacks across the country.

Kevin Hart suffers major back injuries in car crash

Actor-comedian Kevin Hart and two others have been involved in a car crash in Calabasas, California. This happened on Sunday. Hart and the driver, Jared Black, sustained "major back injuries" and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Black was driving Hart's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, according to the report, when he lost control of the vehicle. It went off the road and rolled down an embankment. Patrol officers have said Black was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. The third occupant did not suffer any substantial injuries. Hart bought the Plymouth back in July as a 40th birthday gift to himself.

Rapper Mist Shot During Armed Robbery In Portugal

British rapper Mist has been shot during a suspected robbery in Portugal.

The Mobo Award-winning artist was in a luxury Quint do Lago villa when burglars are believed to have broken in and taken his passport, jewellery and mobile phones.

The 27 year old rapper, was taken to hospital by two friends who told police he was shot in the leg at approximately 10pm local time on Tuesday. They said there had been two or three burglars who had Irish accents.

The rapper’s condition is currently unknown.
