Lady who beat boy and put him in cage with dogs is finally arrested

The police have arrested a woman seen in a viral video weeks back assaulting a little boy. Police officer, Dolapo Badmus revealed this on her Instagram page saying the lady has been arrested and will soon be charged to court. While narrating how she was arrested and giving an update about the boy who is an orphan, she wrote:

''Last week we got a report of a lady that beat a young lad and threw him into dungeon of dogs! As I got the information through @funkejenifaakindele and @do2dtun was helpful, the domestic violence response police team of Lagos State command was activated! The team went into action and the lady was consequently arrested.


The video is that of the cage where the lady threw the boy after that merciless beating!

The suspect is in custody and will be charged to court....The boy who happens to be an orphan has been rescued and kept in a shelter provided by Lagos state government!

I appreciate everyone that cooperated with the police in getting to the root of the matter!''

Nigerian pastor killed in China, FG demands probe

Nigeria has asked China to carry out a thorough investigation into the death of Mr Joseph Nwajueze, a Nigerian Pastor living in that country.

Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) made the demand in a statement on Wednesday.

She said Nwajueze’s death was condemnable.

”The alleged killing of the Anambra -born pastor, who was living with his wife, Chinwe and four children in China, should be thoroughly investigated and the culprits punished,” she said.


Nwajueze was carrying on his legitimate business in China and there was no reason for his killing, she added.

She condemned the stigmatization of Nigerians living in China, saying that those who were found guilty of the country’s law should be prosecuted.

The Speaker of Students’ Union Government Parliament, Bayonne Simeon, of Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, Rivers State has bemoaned the insecurity of students living off-campus.

“No fewer than 20 female students had been r-ped in the last one month, while robbery attacks are on daily basis”, he said.

Some of the victims also told P.M.News that the attackers target only students living off campus.

They complained that despite repeated reports at Bori Police station, nothing has been done and students are left to their fate.

20 Nigerians Charged For Alleged Assault On Malaysia Police Officers

A total of 20 Nigerians have been charged at a Magistrates Court in Malaysia with four counts, including rioting and attacking four police officers at Flora Damansara condominium last month.

All the accused pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to them in English before magistrate Mohamad Ikhwan Mohd Nasir.

Good News! Ebola Drugs Show 90% Survival Rate

God is great! Ebola may soon be a "preventable and treatable" disease after a trial of two drugs showed significantly improved survival rates, scientists have said.

Four drugs were trialled on patients in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where there is a major outbreak of the virus.

Two of those were considerably more effective in treating the disease, the study found.

The drugs will now be used to treat all Ebola patients in DR Congo, according to health officials.

The US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which co-sponsored the trial, said the results are "very good news" for the fight against Ebola.

Police arraign six Revolution Now protesters in Lagos

The police on Tuesday arraigned five people and a lawyer for the #RevolutionNow protests, in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

The police charged Ehis Omoshomio, 35; Gabriel Ojumah, 51, Juwon Sanyaolu, 22; Stanley Anobi, 28; Elias Ozikpu, 30; Kenechukwu Ukachukwu, 25, with two counts of unlawful assembly and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.

EFCC operatives storm ex-governor Abdulaziz Yari’s home in Zamfara State

The country home of former governor Abdulaziz Yari was raided Sunday night by 20 operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The EFCC has not officially given the reason for the raid in Talata Marafa, about 100km from Gusau, the capital of Zamfara.

EFCC operatives spent about five hours in the house, according to a report by Daily Nigerian. It is not clear yet if they got anything incriminating as the governor and his family were not in the building.

23-year old Channels reporter to be buried today

 

The remains of the Channels Television reporter, Precious Owolabi, who was shot dead in Abuja, the nation’s capital, during the Monday protest by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), is to be buried in Zaria, Kaduna State, today.

The body of the 23-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member was sent to his parents in Zaria, Kaduna State, on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the body was immediately moved to the morgue of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria. Parents of the deceased NYSC member, Mr. and Mrs. Owolabi, were in shock and could not address reporters yesterday on their son’s demise.

A source close to the family however disclosed Precious will be buried today.

South Korean military fires warning shot at a Russian military aircraft that entered South Korean airspace on Tuesday

Russian military aircraft violated South Korean airspace on tuesday, a ministry official said according to a report by Reuters.

The warplane was one of three Russian aircraft to enter the Korea Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ) early on Tuesday. Two Chinese military aircraft also entered the KADIZ, the defense ministry said in a statement.

There was no immediate public comment from Russian or Chinese officials.


The South Korean government would lodge official complaints about the violations with China and Russia, the defense ministry in Seoul said.

According to the South Korean military, the Russian aircraft then violated South Korean airspace over Dokdo – an island that is occupied by South Korea and also claimed by Japan, which calls it Takeshima – just after 9 a.m. (midnight GMT Monday).

“The South Korean military took tactical action including dropping flares and firing a warning shot,” the defense ministry statement said.

The Russian aircraft left South Korean airspace but then entered it again about 20 minutes later, prompting the South Koreans to fire another warning shot.

The ministry said South Korean warplanes “conducted a normal response” to the incursion, without giving further details.

How Pastor Fatoyinbo offered me money to defend him- Nkechi Bianze

Nigerian writer and Facebook Influencer, Nkechi Bianze, has alleged that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo’s agent offered her a huge amount of money to defend the COZA Senior Pastor following the rape allegation against him.

Ms Nkechi also added that, she was threatened by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo’s agent if she declines and decides not to remain silent about the offer.

In her lengthy post, she stated that she believes Busola’s story because the little benefit of doubt the COZA Senior Pastor would have had with her was erased when he or his supporters attempted to bribe her to defend him in the “Court of Social Media/Public Opinion”.

On the 20th of June, I decided to take a break from Facebook for a few reasons. I wasn’t in the best state of mind, and I felt I was losing it. Firefighters battling huge blaze at a shopping centre in London

Around 100 firefighters are battling a huge blaze at a shopping centre in East London. Dramatic images show flames ripping through The Mall in Walthamstow, with eyewitnesses saying 999 crews are struggling to get it under control.

Fifteen fire engines have been sent to the scene, and the Metropolitan Police have described it as a "major incident".

An eyewitness told Mirror Online that it isn't clear if there's anyone inside the building. He said: "It's absolutely terrible to see. All the roof of the Mall is on fire, it's going to get bigger and bigger."

The blaze broke out at around 7.40am.

In a statement London Fire Brigade said: "Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters have been called to a fire at The Mall shopping centre on Selborne Walk in Walthamstow.

"The Brigade was called at 0740. Fire crews from Walthamstow, Leyton, Tottenham, Leytonstone, Homerton and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

"The cause of the fire is not known at this stage."
