The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have invited former Minister of aviation and spokesperson of Goodluck Jonathan’s Presidential Campaign Organization, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode to the Abuja office of the agency.
His invitation comes a day after he denied media reports that he is hiding from the anti-graft agency. In a statement on Thursday morning, Fani-Kayode described the reports as “absurd”, saying he never received any invitation from the commission either in form of a letter or by telephone.
According to Vanguard, the letter of invitation sent to his Abuja residence today demanded his presence in their Abuja office by 10.00am on Monday, May 9, 2016, to explain his role in the presidential campaign funds of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2015 presidential elections.
The letter was signed by Mr. Mohammed Umar Abba on behalf of the EFCC acting chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu.
Vanguard reports that Fani-Kayode in a letter through his lawyer to the commission said he would duly honour the invitation.
