The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC yesterday evening named Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State. Mr. Alabi Ebenezer Omotayo was named as his running mate.
Immediately the names were forwarded, the camp of the factional National Chairman of the party, Senator Modu Sheriff, into wild jubilation. However, that was not made to be in the camp of Senator Ahmed Makarfi as their candidate, Mr Jegede no longer has a chance.
Until the commission released the final list of all the candidates that would contest the election, the name of Jegede was put on its website as the candidate of the PDP.
In a letter sent to the Ondo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Segun Agbaje, the commission described the list as FINAL. So now you have it, Jimoh Ibrahim is PDP’s candidate for the Ondo State Governorship election.
