New York Politician Arrested For Beating Her 12 Year Old Son With A Broom

A state assemblywoman Diana Richardson, from Brooklyn has been arrested after her injured 12-year-old son accused her of hitting him with a broomstick, ­police sources said.

Richardson faces charges of assault, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing after she admitted beating her son sources said.



Her son, who is not being named, had walked into the NYPD's 71st Precinct on Friday night where he showed officers a contusion on his arm, New York Post reports.

Pastor Arrested In Ogun State For Raping His Own Daughter

A pastor of a Celestial Church of Christ in Abeokuta, Michael Adeniran, has been arrested for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 15-year-old daughter of a member of his church.
Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State command, Abimbola Oyeneye, told PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday that the complainant, who is the mother of the girl, was reported to be the suspect’s lover.
“The shepherd was arrested Saturday 5th of November following a complaint from the mother of the girl who incidentally happened to be the suspect’s lover,” said Mr. Oyeyemi.
According to him,the complainant had found her daughter pregnant, and after intense
interrogation, revealed that the pastor was responsible for it.

The Governing Council of the Osun State University, Osogbo, has terminated the appointment of Dr. Olabode Ojoniyi of the Department of Languages and Linguistics, Ikire Campus, caught on video having an amorous relationship with one of his students, Mercy Ikwue.

Woman Bags 90 Years Imprisonment Over N5.9 Admission Scam(Photo)

A Federal High Court in Enugu on Thursday convicted and sentenced one Mrs Chika Charles to 90 years in prison for a N5.6m university admission scam.

The jail term comprises three years on each of the 30-count charge preferred against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, a statement by the commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, s aid.

The statement said that the sentences would run concurrently from the date of her conviction.The presiding judge, Justice D. Agishir, found Chika guilty of swindling three young Nigerians to the tune of N5.6 million. During the trial, the court heard that the convict obtained the money under the guise of helping her victims to secure admission into the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUTH).

She was said to have perpetrated the crime through her unregistered non-governmental organisation (NGO) known as Bold and Dynamic Gender Initiative. One Simon Chidubem and Friday Ali, both at large, were named as her accomplices, while Okudoh Obinna was mentioned as one of the victims. EFCC: Abati Granted Bail, Bala To Spend More Days

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured a court order to hold a detained former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed.

The EFCC has also granted the former Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Reuben Abati, an administrative bail.

A competent source in the commission said on Thursday that the commission decided to secure the order to detain the ex-FCT minister because the operatives in charge of his case had not concluded ongoing investigations.

Seized $15m: Patience seeks N200m damages

A Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed December 7, 2016 to hear the N200m fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Skye Bank Plc to challenge the freezing of four bank accounts containing $15m.

The EFCC placed a ‘No Debit Order’ on the four accounts opened in the name of four companies which were linked to a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamo-Owei Dudafa.

But Patience had sued the EFCC and Skye Bank claiming the ownership of the $15m found in the four bank accounts.

Police Arrest Wife Over Failed Assassination Attempt On Her Husband In Lagos

Suspected fleeing assassins – Chigozie Nworie and Kingsley Ofotele, have been arrested in Ogun State by the Police while escaping to Anambra State with their victim’s Range Rover Jeep – a Sport Utility Vehicle(SUV).

Update On Bala Mohammed, Abati In EFCC’s Custody

Former Federal Capital Territory Minister, Bala Mohammed, and the ex-Presidential Spokesman, Reuben Abati, have been united in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and are likely to spend more time there until further notice, Vanguard reports.

This indication emerged last night when competent officials of the anti-graft agency snubbed suggestions for their immediate release, arguing that they were not yet through with investigation into their alleged criminal offences.

The development came as EFCC served former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, with fresh charges over new evidence that he received the sum of N26 million from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, for undisclosed reasons when he served as the Spokesman for the Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign Organisation.

N2bn Cocaine In Container: Our Hands Are Clean -Nigerite

Multinational roofing firm, Nigerite has expressed readiness to cooperate fully with the Nigeria Police Force and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in their investigation into the suspected cocaine worth N2 billion found in one of the containers it used to ship in raw materials from New Zealand.

A statement by its Marketing Research and Communications Manager, Victor Jolaoso, however dissociated the company from the cocaine importation. He also called for restraint to allow security agencies do their job.


According to him; “The company expressed its readiness to cooperate fully with the police and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in investigating this case, asking stakeholders to let the Police and NDLEA conduct their investigation, and expressing confidence that the outcome of the investigation will completely vindicate Nigerite. “

The company reiterated that it was not involved in the packing and containerisation of the goods, and had nothing to do with the trafficking of cocaine, which is neither a raw material requirement for its operations nor part of its production processes.

The release stressed that Nigerite, a highly compliant company with reputable local and international shareholders, had been operating in Nigeria for over 57 years and that during this period it had complied strictly with Nigerian laws and regulations.

Children Blows Whistle On Child Traffickers

A couple, Mujidat Wahab and Ayobami Wahab, and two other women have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for alleged child trafficking in Ondo town, Ondo State.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Funbi-Fagun Police Division, Mr. Olu-Ojo Ogunmoyole, said the suspects who specialised in street begging business were indigenes of Ibadan, Oyo State.

He said they were arrested with five underage children, who were between ages eight and 10, in various locations in the community after complaints by residents of the town.

 “The suspects always pretended to be blind and went about with the young boys to beg for alms on a daily basis,” he added.

20-Year Old Beheads Woman In Other Not To ‘Run Mad’

A 20-year-old man identified as Emmanuel Effiong has said he beheaded a woman at the Aba park on the instructions of a mad woman, who allegedly advised him to throw a human head into a river or he would go mad.

“I gave a mad woman money one day in Aba and she told me to look for a skull or human head and throw inside a river or I will go mad.

“One morning, when I saw a lifeless body in front of the park, I decided to cut off the dead woman’s head for the exercise. I threw the head into the Aba River to remain a normal person,” he said.

Effiong made the confession while in the custody of the police. He had been arrested by police operatives in Aba, Abia State in connection with a threat to kidnap and kill one Ikechukwu Udogu.

It was gathered that the search for Effiong started when the police got the information that an unknown person, through a phone text, threatened to kill one Udogu, if he failed to pay him a N15m ransom.

According to Premium Times, he was arrested on Monday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly receiving some money from the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.

He  spent the night with the anti-graft agency.
