Solomon Arase In Fresh Trouble, 24 hours After Retirement

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday, disclosed that it has declared retired Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase wanted for allegedly presiding over the extra-judicial killings of over 1,000 Biafrans between July, 2015 and May 30, 2016.

The group said that it has directed all its members worldwide to closely monitor the movements and whereabouts of Arase, to facilitate his arrest and arraignment in the International Criminal Court, ICC, as soon as an international bench warrant is issued for his arrest.

In a press statement signed by its spokesman, Dr. Clifford Iroegbu, IPOB directed that Arase’s whereabouts must also be monitored and logged-in with the office of IPOB headquarters, Victoria, Spain.

Chris Brown's manager sues him for allegedly beating him up

Chris Brown is in yet another controversy for allegedly raising his hands again. According to court documents obtained by E! News,Brown's manager Michael Guirguis, also known as Mike G, filed a lawsuit against Chris for assault, battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract and breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing after he alleges the singer "brutally" attacked him in early May before embarking on his European tour.

The manager claims Brown was in a "drug-fueled" rage when he attacked him in a room and punched him four times in the face and neck—injuries that ultimately led to an emergency room visit. The documents state that the singer allegedly took to social media afterward, "boasting" to his friends about the incident.
Guirguis claims in the documents that he was hired by the Grammy winner to "repair his reputation" after Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Robbers Kill Bank Customer And Disappear With His Money

A four-man robbery gang, yesterday, shot dead a 26 years old bank customer in the Apapa area of Lagos and escape with his money.

The deceased, Kingsley Chukwu, who was a private guard attached to a residential apartment at Creek Road, was reportedly on his way to deposit an unspecified amount in one of the new generation banks on Commercial Road when he was attacked.

 Apparently trailed by the gunmen, who rode on two motorbikes, Chukwu, as gathered, was shot at close range by one of them, while another forcefully collected the bag containing the money from him. Thereafter, the robbers fired sporadically into the air as they zoomed off.

Fayose’s Conduct Is Shameful - Ali Modu Sheriff

Embattled “National Chairman” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ali Modu Sheriff has described the public conduct of Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as shameful.
Sheriff was reacting to Fayose’s comment that he was removed as chairman because he was scheming for the 2019 presidential ticket of the PDP and was also baiting some party chieftains with the vice presidential ticket.
At a media briefing in Abuja yesterday, Sheriff said: “I am ashamed at the way and manner Fayose is conducting himself in the country. I was once a governor; so, I know that the position of governor is a very serious one that demands responsible behaviour”.
He denied scheming for the party’s presidential ticket, saying: “I never told anybody I wanted to run for president and I did not promise anybody the vice presidential ticket. I have decided not to join issues with Fayose.”

New Niger Delta Militant Group Emerges, Vows To Be The Deadliest

A new militant group, Asawana Deadly Force of Niger Delta, ADFND, emerged, yesterday, in the region, threatening to cripple the oil industry across the nine Niger Delta states unless the Federal Government grants them, “Niger Delta Republic in the next couple of days.”

The group in a statement by its leader, Commander Olomubini Kakarakokoro, a.k.a No Mercy, said that, “Except our demand for Niger Delta Republic is granted, without further notice to the Federal Government, we shall proceed to bomb Bonga field flow station, Asaba- Onistha Bridge, Third Mainland Bridge and other major bridges in the Southtern part of the country, just for a start.

Ex-Policeman, Guards Arrested For Alleged Theft

An ex-policeman identified as Tunde, has been arrested by the police in Ogun State along with two security guards of Flour Mills Nigeria Limited, over alleged burglary.

It was learnt that the guards, simply identified as Sulaiman and Ola, manned the firm’s new site at Araromi Orita village in Atan, Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.

Punch Metro gathered that the guards were employed by the company on Tunde’s recommendation.The suspects were accused of stealing some materials used for building construction.

Fears Grow As Sinead O'Connor Threatens To Jump Off A Bridge

Chicago Police Department received a call from Irish police saying that the 49-year-old contacted her family Thursday evening claiming to be suicidal, TMZ reported.

O'Connor allegedly told relatives that she planned to jump off a bridge in the Chicago area.

A police alert on the Chicago Police Department scanner said: 'The word from the Ireland police sergeant Claire Mulligan, Dublin, Ireland, is saying that at 1530 hours Sinead O'Connor called and said, 'I'm on a bridge in Chicago and I'm going to jump.''

According to TMZ, Chicago police spotted a woman who fit O'Connor's description, but it was not her.

This is not an active search, but officers were told to be on the lookout for the singer, TMZ reported.

It's also unclear if a specific bridge in the Chicago area was named or not.

Man Who Posed As EFCC Operative Jailed For 7 Years

Gabriel was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday for posing as an EFCC operative and obtaining money by false pretence from Dr. Precious Gbeneol, a former Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretariat, Abuja under the guise of helping her to close a supposed case brought against her.

It’s an offence punishable under Section 132 of the Penal Code CAP 532 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (Abuja) 1990.

Justice U. P. Kekemeke of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Apo, Abuja, found him guilty of the two-count charge brought against him by the EFCC. The trial judge sentenced him to six months in prison on count one and seven years in prison on count two without an option of fine. The sentences are to run concurrently.

The judge also ordered that he refund the N880, 000 to his victim.

Lightning Strikes 66 Dead In India

At least 66 people were killed by lightning in India in a 24 hour period Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forty-six deaths were in the northern state of Bihar, where 22 more were left injured. Twenty more were killed in the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to VOA news, the disaster management secretary of Bihar, Viyas Ji, said the state will provide $5,900 to the families of those who lost their lives in the storm.
Authorities say the death tolls are likely to rise as reports continue to come in from rural areas.

In a reaction to the tweets, the PDP, using their verified Twitter account have said that going by the Aisha Buhari's tweet, she is 'capable of assassinating Fayose'.

The Peoples Democratic Party Governor’s Forum yesterday described the freezing of the personal accounts of Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as gross abuse of the constitution.

The forum, which spoke through its Chairman, who also doubles as Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the anti-graft agency to order.

This came as the Ekiti State House of Assembly faulted the move by the EFCC, saying it acted beyond its powers.

Woman Slit 12Year Old Niece’s Neck, Hand With Razor

Lagos woman Funmi Otitoloju has been nabbed and sentenced by the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for slitting her niece Adeola’s neck and hand with a razor blade.
According to report, Otitoloju was arrested for allegedly brutalising her niece Adeola after a neigbhour and the landlady accused the child of stealing from their apartments. Angered  by this, Otitoloju brutalised Adeola with a razor blade, leaving her with brutal cuts.

The victim was rushed to the nearest general hospital by a kind neighbour. At first, the hospital refused to give the child treatment until a police report was gotten. And so, the situation was reported to a worker of the Ikorodu Child Protection Network who subsequently, alerted the police. Eventually, Adeola was taken into government’s custody and given emergency treatment at the hospital, while the police arrested the abusive aunt.

Dasukigate: How EFCC Traced N4.75Bn To Obanikoro, Fayose

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have traced about N4.745billion of the diverted $2. 1billion arms cash to a former Minister of State (Defence), Musiliu Obanikoro and Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose.

It was learnt that the cash was sourced from the SAS Imprest Account of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) under ex-NSA Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) prior to the conduct of the June 21, 2014 Ekiti State governorship election.

Others allegedly linked with the sharing of the slush funds includes Abiodun Agbele, an Associate to Governor Fayose,  Mrs. Helen Olayemi Fayose; Obanikoro’s sons — Gbolahan and Babajide — Ikenna Ezekwe; Sylvan Mcnamara Limited(a company allegedly run by the Obanikoros); Spotless Hotel, owned by Fayose and De Privateer Limited, which is owned by Agbele.

An Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 33-year-old man, Imole Emmanuel, in prison custody for allegedly pouring hot soup on a police corporal, Kayode Akingbade.
 Emmanuel was arraigned on counts of assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of the public peace.
 It was learnt that he also attempted to snatch the corporal’s rifle.

Shopping Mall Evacuated In Brussels After Bomb Threat

A shopping centre in central Brussels has been evacuated and a terror suspect 'possibly wearing an explosive belt' has been arrested after a bomb threat.

Police have descended on the City2 retail centre in the heart of the Belgian capital and taped off surrounding roads. Officers arrested a man at the scene before a bomb squad were called in amid reports the man was carrying explosives.

19-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide Over Relationship

A 19-year-old lady allegedly committed suicide following a quarrel with her lover at Alhaji Ede Avenue in Igando area of Lagos, The deceased, Uche Obiora, was said to have visited her lover’s home over the weekend.

There were, however, different accounts as to how the tragedy struck.

A version of the account said a quarrel ensued between them, over suspicion by Obiora that her boyfriend, Ernest Ihaza, was having an affair with another lady.

Another version stated that during the visit, Ihaza announced his intention to discontinue with the relationship. Continue....
