A former Chairman of the United States House Intelligence Committee, Pete Hoekstra, has condemned President Muhammadu Buahri-led government, stating that the President’s policies in running Nigeria were obsolete.

The stepdaughter of rapper T.I was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Thursday after police said she tried to take a gun through security.

Zonnique Pullins who is Tiny's daughter from a previous relationship has been charged with carrying a weapon or long gun through security.
According to a police report, Pullins had a .380 Ruger semi-automatic pistol in her purse and it was spotted by an X-ray tech as she tried to go through the security checkpoint at the airport.

Pullins told the TSA agents that she had a gun permit but the agents said she did not have it on her at the time.
Pullins was taken to the Clayton County Jail. She has since bonded out,WSB Atlanta reports.

Boko Haram Storms Village Funeral, Kills 24

Boko Haram insurgents on Thursday night attacked Kuda-Kaya village in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state, killing 24 persons during a wake-keep service.

The long arms of the law have caught up with a 23-year old Kenyan primary school teacher, John Gichia Mugi.
The young man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison after a Kenyan court sentenced him to 90 years in prison for sexually assaulting 10 students.

 He was charged with indecently assaulting the boys at Muthiria Primary School, between January and May 2015.
The victims, aged between 13 and 16 years, had testified that John, who was also their boarding master, would lure them and fondle their private parts after night preps as he kissed them. The court also heard John fled after the boys reported him to their parents.

A Nigerian gynecologist Dr Anthony Madu, 45, has been asked to repay £75,620.73 within six months or go to prison.This came after it was discovered he secretly carried out well-paid job while on paid sick leave from another hospital.

The Nigerian-born Madu doctor was convicted of six charges of fraud and given a two-year suspended sentence in 2014.
Dailymail reports that, Madu was given an obstetrics and gynaecology registrar post at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, in August 2009 but he was suspended and put on extended leave two months later over allegations about his conduct towards other staff and claims that he had falsified his training record.From January 2010, he submitted sick notes on three occasions, saying he could not work because of stress.
But he then went on to earn huge sums as a locum at four hospitals in Manchester, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

EFCC Holds Ex-Customs Chief Over Alleged N42b Fraud

Former Customs chief Abdullahi Inde Dikko is being held by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was yesterday questioned over an alleged N42billion fraud.

Money Laundering Suspect Forfeits $86,000 To FG,Sentenced 6 Months In Jail

A man convicted of money Laundering by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Samuel Duru was charged before Justice M.N Yinusa of the Federal High Court, Enugu, for failure to declare $86,000.00 out of $96,000 in contravention of Section 12 of the Foreign Exchange (Monitoring and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2011.

The accused was arrested by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu while travelling to China in December 2015 and was subsequently handed to EFCC for further investigation and prosecution.
When the case came up today, Mr. Duru pleaded guilty to the one count charge preferred against him.

The defence counsel, Ikuka Kennedy, pleaded with the court to tamper justice with mercy since the convict had shown remorse and was a first time offender that had no past criminal records.
Justice Yinusa subsequently convicted and sentenced the accused to six months imprisonment from the date of arrest.
He further ordered that the undeclared $86, 000 be forfeited to the federal government, while the $10,000 and his international passport be returned to the convict.

The United States government has formally cancelled the Visas of the three members of the House of Representatives who allegedly assaulted a Hotel housekeeper, and solicited sex from prostitutes during a recent trip to the US to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Programme on Good Governance.

One of the lawmakers, Hon. Terse Gbillah, wrote the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria James Entwistle on Thursday (yesterday), accusing the US of not giving the three members fair hearing.

Gbillah also expressed surprise in his letter that within hours of bringing the matter to the attention of the House, the US Government had gone ahead to cancel the visas of the lawmakers.

He threatened to immediately institute legal actions against the US Government, the Ambassador and the Marriot Hotel Brand, among others for damages.

Ex-Governor Lands In Court For Approving N1bn For Dictionaries

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sued former governor of Gombe State, Danjuma Goje, to a Federal High Court in Jos for allegedly awarding a N1bn contract for the supply of dictionaries to secondary Schools during his tenure as Governor of Gombe.

According to the prosecution witness, Salisu Abaji, the ex-governor awarded a contract to Gombe State Universal Basic Education Board without following procurement process.

6. Be Patriotic
An important investment strategy for Dangote is to look at what areas that can move Nigeria forward and add value to the people of Nigeria. It pays to love your motherland.

“I think it is mainly to see how impactful you can be to humanity instead of chasing money”, according to the mogul. Dangote believes that African’s are the only ones that are going to make Africa great and move Africa forward. So strive to make an impact in any business you do.
8. Soil Problems
Dangote’s worst day in business came when they decided to start the first cement plant and found out that they built the 5 million ton capacity on the wrong soil which threatened to destroy everything the company had invested in.
9. Hide from the competition
To prevent other companies from knowing what they were doing, Dangote decided not to do a feasibility study on the soil before building. As he puts it, they wanted to hide from the competition. Moral of the story, learn to keep things close to the chest.
10. Keep an eye on the numbers
Avoid cost overruns because that is the fastest way to fail. Dangote managed to get a consortium of banks to raise about $470 million to help them release cash flow. This is one of his top advice to budding entrepreneurs
11. Nothing is impossible
One of Dangote’s mantra and a plaque he keeps on his table, Dangote believes that anything you put your mind to, you can achieve.
12. Be very focused
According to Africa’s richest man, it is important for young people to be very focused, understand what they want to do and also understand the type of business they are going into.

A two-year-old boy is dead after being dragged into the water at Walt Disney World resort by an alligator has been found by the authorities.

Lane Graves was attacked by the animal as he paddled on the shore of the five-star Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando, Florida last night.

His parents Matt and Melissa Graves watched in terror as the reptile believed to be between 4ft and 7ft long clenched its jaws around him, before pulling him into the Seven Seas Lagoon near the premier hotel.


Speaking during a live press conference, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said: “There is no doubt in my mind the child was drowned by the alligator”.

He confirmed members of the diving team discovered the boy’s body “intact” at around 1.45am local time.

Fast forward to the 15th of June 2016, president Buhari floats the Naira and instead of the expected jubilation, as it is a much anticipated move in the right direction, Nigerians are busy hounding him for a certificate. Police Dismiss Sergeant For Collecting N50,000 Bribe

A police sergeant, Daniel Osaimayu, has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly collecting N50,000 bribe from motorists in the Oshodi area of Lagos State.

Punch correspondent gathered that Osaimayu, who was attached to the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, Alausa, was arrested on Monday by the X-Squad of the Lagos State Police Command.

Reports learnt that the X-Squad operatives had arrested a hoodlum in the area and found the cash on him. The hoodlum, however, fingered the police sergeant, who was posted to the area, as his accomplice.

The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, who confirmed the dismissal on Wednesday, said four other policemen were dismissed for extortion and improper dressing.


Punch correspondent gathered that the four dismissed policemen were Samuel Ando, Michael Adeoya, Richard Ugwu and Sulaiman Muhammed. It was learnt that Adeoya was dismissed for allegedly wearing flip-flops while on duty, while Muhammed was dismissed for allegedly not wearing police uniform while on duty.

Herdsmen Attack: Nimbo Community Demands N17bn Compensation From FG

Lives and property has been lost as a result of the unfortunate invasion of their community by suspected herdsmen on April 25, the people of Nimbo in Uzouwani Local Government Area of Enugu State wednesday demanded a whopping N17 billion compensation from the federal government.

The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe John Akor who made the demand on behalf of his community while testifying before the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to look at the situation, said only the compensation would appease the people of the area.

“Our community demands a compensation of N17 billion for human loses, unlawful destruction of properties and criminal deprivation of use of our farms for over two decades,” he said.

Samuel Eto Marries Long-Term Partner

Former Chelsea and Everton striker, Samuel Eto’o married at a ceremony in Italy. The 35-year-old married his long time partner Georgette Tra Lou at a church in Stezzano, a small municipality 25 miles northeast of Milan.
