Ladies Get In Here... Etcetera Explains Why Your Men Cheats

When you heard the news that Toke Makinwa’s husband impregnated his girlfriend, you all took to social media to rain insults on Nigerian men. Why men cheat on women they love became a topic for all female radio presenters in the country. Aren’t you all tired of asking the same question over and over as if it is some perplexing unfathomable mystery?
Your question is rhetorical, but since it keeps coming up again and again, let me provide some explanations to help you understand the reasons. I will simply tell it like it is, with no bull, tact, or political correctness. It’s just that oftentimes; women do not accept the explanations. But in fact, one can understand it through common sense. Sometimes a man would cheat on his wife or girlfriend because he doesn’t love her anymore; he is bored with her, or even possibly unhappy with their relationship.

SSS Arrests Operators Of Radio Biafra

Nigeria’s broadcasting industry regulator, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has said that it has confiscated transmitters being used by the controversial Radio Biafra across the South east, thereby effectively neutralizing illegal broadcasts from the radio station.
NBC also claimed it has arrested operators of the radio station while it was working to stop the transmission through the internet. The Director General of NBC, Emeka Mba said this in a statement released today in Abuja. He also disclosed that the brains behind the radio station are currently being interrogated by security operatives.
It will be recalled that the government had earlier said it has confiscated the transmitters of the radio stations, but the directors released a press statement shortly after that to say it was untrue and they are still very much transmitting.

Lekki Bank Robbery Suspect Sues Police for N1m

One of the four Lekki bank robbery suspects has taken the police to court, asking for N1million damages for alleged unlawful detention.
In a suit at the Ikeja High Court in Lagos, Ebi Tosan prayed that the police be directed to release him on bail.
Tosan,  20, was paraded by the police with Duke Odogbo, 38, Lawrence Kingsley, 31, and Ekelemo Kuete, 30, in connection with the March 12 robbery of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in Lekki, Lagos.
The applicant, who was arrested on April 5,  claimed that it was unlawful for the police to keep him in detention without bail.
The matter could not be heard  yesterday when  it came before Justice Lateefa Okunnu because the police did not bring the applicant to court.

But  his counsel, Chief S.W. Baidi, complained that his continued detention without bail was an “infringement and curtailment of the applicant’s constitutional right to personal liberty, freedom of movement and presumption of innocence.”

Tamuno Amos, who claimed to be the applicant’s uncle, said his nephew’s continued detention was a deliberate act by the police to “extract a confessional statement from him on the alleged offence.”

Amos averred that he had not been allowed to see his nephew since his arrest on April 5.The deponent said:
“The applicant is suffering on daily basis without access to food, bath and other conveniences and he may die in custody unless granted bail.”
On July 9, Justice Okunnu directed the police to produce the applicant in court yesterday. But, he was not brought, thereby stalling the hearing of his application .
Justice Okunnu has ordered that  Lagos State Attorney-General be joined in the suit. She adjourned the matter till October 22. The judge said if there was any urgency, the applicant could appear before October 22 before another judge who will be sitting during the court’s yearly vacation, which begins next week

Television, in Abeokuta, did not mention the ‘corrupt’ Yar’Adua rivals.

Among the prominent presidential hopefuls in the Peoples Democratic Party in 2007 were Obasanjo’s deputy, Abubakar Atiku; and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili.

Atiku later abandoned the PDP to contest the presidential election on the platform of the defunct Action Congress while Odili’s ambition fizzled out with the nomination of Yar’Adua.

The AC later metamorphosed into the Action Congress of Nigeria, which later merged with the Congress for Progressive Change and the All Nigeria Peoples Party to form the now ruling All Progressives Congress.

Obasanjo’s choice of successor died on May 5, 2010 from heart-related ailments. Many condemned Obasanjo for choosing a man who was manifestly sick to lead the country.

But in the Channels interview, PUNCH reports that Obasanjo said he only acted based on the information made available to him. He said:
“Even if you take your son as your successor, you are not sure of what he will do when he gets there. Don’t ever kid yourself. What do I know about any successor? What he presents. When he gets there, he presents it differently.
We did our best, but if you say our best is not good enough, I will say, when it comes to your turn, do better. With all the people that are available for successor, what we came up with was about the best that we could think of at that time.
One of those who wanted to do the job came to me and said, ‘Sir, I like your job, but I cannot do it the way you are doing it.’ Now, if he had told me that, should I then come and say, ‘okay, come, let me give you the job?’ He had told me that, ‘I like your job, but look, the way you are doing it, I haven’t got the stamina to do it that way.’ Then, what do you expect me to do?
Or the one that I know that, oh!, this one, before he gets the job, he’s stinkingly corrupt. Now will I be able to defend myself before God and man if with what I know I give this job or I encourage the man to have this job?”

50-Year Old Jailed 9 Years For Defiling Girl, 11

A 50-year old man, Nosa Edebiri, has been sentenced to nine years imprisonment by an Oredo Magistrates’ Court in Benin, Edo state, for defiling an 11-year old girl. The Magistrate, Mrs Caroliine Oghuma, sentenced Edebiri today after he pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of defilement.

The Prosecutor, Sergeant Kehinde Adebiyi, had told the court that on 2 June, 2015, the minor and her parents came to police station to lodge a complain of defilement of the minor against the convict at his home close to the minor’s house at Aghimen street, off Saint Saviour, Benin.

The court heard that on that fateful day, the convict went to buy fish worth N250 at No 4, Aghimen street, off Saint Saviour, Benin, where the minor was assisting her mother to sell fish.

The convict was said to have asked the minor to follow him home to collect the money of the fish, where he locked her up in his room and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her and threatened to kill her and her parents if she disclosed what transpired between them.

The parents of the girl however noticed that the girl was not comfortable as she complained of pains in her abdomen and narrated what happened to her to her parents.

The Prosecutor told the court that following complaint by parents of the victim, she was taken to the Central Hospital in Benin for examination where doctors confirmed that the minor had lost her virginity, adding that the convict confessed to the crime.

Delivering her judgment, Magistrate Oghuma told the convict, “You do not deserve any mercy even though it is the first time you are appearing in court. I consider the offence condemnable since you took advantage of the vulnerable minor. I hereby sentence you to nine years imprisonment without option of fine, to serve as deterrent to others.”

Nigeria Must Legalize Gay Marriage Vows United States?

The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield (pictured above) has stated that they would continue to pressurize Nigeria until it legalizes same sex marriage. She made this known on Monday July 13 during a live-web chat with journalists in Washington.

"As a government, it is one of the highest priorities and strongest values that discrimination against anyone based on their sexual orientation and gender identity is wrong. We believe human rights should be available to everybody. As a policy, we will continue to press the government of Nigeria, as well as other governments which have provided legislation that discriminate against the LGBT community. This is very much a work in progress, but I think you will agree with me that the law in Nigeria really went far in discriminating against this community but also people who associate with them. So, we will continue to press the government, to press the legislature to change these laws and provide human rights for all Nigerian people regardless of their sexual orientation. With what is happening in the US, you can determine how far we are willing to go. We strongly believe human rights for all people and we are particularly opposed to legislation that actually targets the gay community for discrimination. So we are prepared to push this as a policy, not just in Africa but across the world.”
