Widow Who Allegedly Lures School Girls Into Prostitution Arrested

A widow, identified as Chinonso Okolokwo, who was paraded by Lagos State Police Command alongside some criminals for allegedly recruiting young schoolgirls as commercial s3x workers in a hotel in Surulere area of the state during school hours, has denied the charge.

Briefing newsmen on her arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, disclosed that the suspect’s method was to lure the students from different secondary schools around Surulere to the hotel.

Okolokwo, according to the CP, would give the students clothes to change into and use them as s3x slaves until school closing hours. Some of the students, as gathered, went home with between N1,000 and N2,000, depending on the number of men they attended to. But the amount, it was learned, was just 10 percent of what was paid by their male customers, while the rest was allegedly pocketed by their managers, among who is Okolokwo.

When interrogated, Okolokwo who hails from Ebonyi State, said: “I do not know anything about the schoolgirls. I am also a ‘hustler’ at Sunderland Hotel. I took to prostitution after the death of my husband 11 years ago. I have four children, but two died before my husband.

“I lodged at the hotel for a week or two before going home to take care of my children with the proceeds. Several girls from Abuja and other parts of the country come there to hustle as well.

“Police raided the hotel and arrested me. I am not connected with what they alleged.”

Black Woman Live Streams Racist White Couple Abusing Her Family & You Won't Believe What They Said

Emarald Robinson, 19, who is pregnant, started streaming to Facebook as she went to confront a couple after they allegedly called her 15-year-old sister a ‘monkey’ and a ‘n.’

The sisters and their mother Inez Robinson Eddington had gone to a branch of the fast-food chain on Pat Booker Road in Universal City after church on Sunday. Inez said that her younger daughter was sobbing outside when she and Emarald approached the couple and streamed the interaction live on Facebook.

‘So, Facebook, this is what racist people look like,’ one of them is heard saying.

The white couple are seen sitting, but suddenly jump up and begin cursing at the family. The woman starts hurling racist abuse at the family, screaming: ‘You’re a fucking n*!’ Then, she is restrained by her husband as she attempts to charge at the family, shouting: ‘Take your n* a back to Africa, h!’

The mother is heard responding: ‘I was born right here in America.’ At this point, the white man turns around to say: ‘My ancestors brought your b a over here.

The white woman adds: ‘My ancestors owned your a, n*! My ancestors owned your ass, b***!’

Shockingly, while the video shows plenty of customers in the restaurant, no one is seen intervening throughout the row.

‘You know, I had to record it to let you all see. Because it's real in San Antonio, too. For everyone who thinks it's not real, it's real in San Antonio.’ She added: ‘That's the problem though. You can’t fight them. You can't fight these people because that's how you end up in jail.’

Toddler Dies Of Complications From Anesthesia After Visiting Dentist

A 14-month-old girl, Daisy Lynn Torres, from, Texas has died as a result of complications from anesthesia hours after being rushed to hospital from Austin Children's Dentistry in March.

Autopsy results released by state investigators could not definitively say if there were any other factors that contributed to her death.

Daisy's mother, Betty Squier, took her daughter to the dentist on March 29 to get treatment for tooth decay in her primary teeth. Squier said the staff at the Austin Children’s Dentistry found Daisy had six cavities that needed to be fixed, instead of the two they originally thought, and that young patients were routinely sedated as part of the treatment.

During the procedure the 14-month-old stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest, before she died.

A spokeswoman for Austin Children’s Dentistry said the office is yet to receive the medical examiner's report into Daisy's death. Her mom now wants the case investigated.

But a lawyer representing the dentist who treated Daisy says the task of sedating the young girl was done by an anesthesiologist and not the dentist.

Beware of fake men of God-Pastor Anita Oyakhilome writes

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's ex-wife, pastor Anita ,published an article titled ''Soul winning'' in which she asks people to beware of fake men of God..
When people talk about winning souls these days, I feel absolutely concerned for the so-called souls. It looks to me like a lion on a breakfast mission, in search for his hunt; he hides behind the grass for an unwise lamb that would wander away from the herd in search of fresh grass. This will be an easy catch and good feast for the lion’s plate.
When I hear these people talk about winning souls, I feel sorry for the souls who have no idea of what they are getting into. It sometimes sounds to me like blood-thirsty people desperate to count the number of innocent, ignorant people who will give their blood to be sucked. These souls are classified, as the needy, can undoubtedly be gullible in their search for solutions and wanting to identify or belong to a community.

These souls are caught when they are most vulnerable maybe they have lost a loved one, in a bad relationship with their parents or family, in need of healing or desperate for a change. At this point they will give anything and do anything without a second thought.

You Have Done The Right Thing By Banning Street Hawking- NPC Boss

Dr. Mike Sangodapo, the Director of the National Population Commission, NPC, has praised Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State for banning street trading in the state.

The NPC boss while speaking yesterday at a press conference said street hawking caused early marriage and contributed to poverty in the country. Hear him;

“Teenage girls during puberty are usually forced into early marriage by their parents. This is too harmful for their health and the country’s economy.

“Girls who have not attained maturity are betrothed to men who have nothing substantial doing and they give birth to children with no resources to cater to them. They produce dependencies on a few citizens, whom they will look up to for survival. It is very harmful to the economy because it will not grow as a result of the increasing poverty.”

Ghana Begins Visa-On-Arrival Policy For AU Member States

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) said that foreign nationals from the African Union (AU) member states can now travel to Ghana and be issued with visas on arrival.

Francis Palmdeti, Head of Public Affairs of the GIS, said on Monday in a statement that Ghana kick-starts the new visa policy.

He said the arrangement would be piloted at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra for three months, and thereafter extended to all other entry points of the country.

“All AU nationals affected by this policy who arrive in the country must have a passport, valid for at least three months, from the date of entry; they must have a return ticket or evidence of onward travel. Travellers must show evidence of sufficient funds and proof of accommodation before they are granted visas,’’ he said.

Palmdeti said that the visa-on-arrival decision by the Ghanaian government was in fulfilment of a resolution adopted at the AU Executive Council meeting held earlier this year in Addis Ababa.

He said that the resolution stipulates that AU Member States should review their internal and external security realities in an attempt to implement mechanisms allowing for the issuing of visas on arrival for citizens of member states, with the possibility of a 30-day stay.

Palmdeti said Ghana became the first AU member state to adopt such a policy and has received commendation from the AU Commission for the bold step.

Ethiopia Blocks Facebook, Twitter, Instagram Others Till Wednesday So Students Can Concerntrate On Exams

Ethiopia has blocked social media sites during university entrance examinations to prevent students from being "distracted", a government spokesman has told AFP news agency.

Some end-of-year examination papers were posted online last month forcing the exams to be scrapped.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Viber have been inaccessible in the country since Saturday, AFP reports.

"It's blocked. It's a temporary measure until Wednesday. Social media have proven to be a distraction for students," government spokesman Getachew Reda is quoted as saying.

Prominent Ethiopian blogger Daniel Berhane has however condemned the move. What do you think?

Court Adjourns Saraki, Ekweremadu’s Case Till September

An FCT High Court, Jabi, has adjourned the alleged forgery trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and others till September 28, 2016.

They were accused of forging the 2011 Senate Standing Order on June 9, 2015 and caused it to be used during the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly in 2015.

The offence contravened Section 97 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 364 of the same law.

Omisore Tells PDP Osun Chairman, I Never Asked You To Beg Ooni To Plead For Me

Culled for Punch and it is well explanatory

The embattled former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has distanced himself from the Peoples Democratic Party emissaries led by the Chairman of the party in Osun State, Mr. Soji Adagunodo to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Adagunodo, who was in an opposing camp to Omisore’s had led some members of the party to the palace of Oba Ogunwusi and pleaded with the monarch to forgive Omisore who has yet to visit the Ooni seven months after he was enthroned as the Ife monarch.

They also asked the monarch to assist Omisore, who is his subject to get out of the detention of  the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

But a close ally of Omisore, who is also the spokesperson for the party in the state, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, in a statement on Sunday said Adagunodo’s action was tantamount to a mockery and a pretence.

Odeyemi stated, “When EFCC came after Omisore, it is logical to assume that Adagunodo group will be happy that their “enemy” is now out of the scene and away from their sight.

“It is also likely that the open display of sympathy and latter-day affection may not be genuine. How can we explain the sudden love for a man you so much hate while in freedom? Their actions and utterances may be “Oju aye” (eye service.)”

The statement added, “In their attempt to register the group as supportive of the man they despise, they started crying more than the bereaved, running around to nowhere and with no justifiable reasons for their actions and utterances.

“In Omisore’s case, they cannot be a good advocate to defend his course. It is bias and double standard. For Adagunodo, it is a dangerous game. Head or tail, his intention can never stand the test of absolute sincerity.

“Why going from pillar to post over a sensitive matter still under investigation? You can only plead when confronted with evidences of guilt not prior. This is why Adagunodo’s plea to the Ooni of Ife on behalf of Omisore is a strange strategy that can be viewed as a further attempt to nail Omisore by his enemy posing as his friend.

“One may also be right if you call it a “back door political coup” to dent Omisore’s image. It is a mockery visit for a bad mission under pretence.”

Odeyemi said although the Ooni did not give the PDP chairman and his followers the normal respect he always accord his valued guest, he stated that the monarch used the opportunity to vent his anger on Omisore,

He said, “Oba Ogunwusi was presented a veritable opportunity to stylishly vent out his subtle anger on Omisore. Kabiyesi in his wisdom complained of not being visited by Omisore. His prayer for Omisore is loaded and more or less sounded neutrality in his matter. It is normal and expected.
Kabiyesi scored a good goal from a loose ball passed to him by Adagunodo’s group.”

Fuel Scarcity May Re-Surface This Week

Should the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria be allowed to linger beyond Wednesday, most depots in Apapa, Lagos, will run out of fuel stock, Punch has learnt.

Following the commencement of the strike on Thursday, loading at Apapa depots, where many marketers get petroleum products to other states, has been reduced due to the absence of workers of the Petroleum Equalisation Fund Board.

The PEF personnel usually certify marketers’ trucks to enable them to get bridging funds for fuel being transported to distant parts of the country. It was gathered that marketers were only loading to Lagos and other South-West states that required no payment of bridging fund by the PEF.

The Federal Government had however said it would meet with the leadership of PENGASSAN today in a bid to resolve the problem.

Blame Politicians For Inconclusive State Of Elections, Not INEC- US Ambassador

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, has said Nigerian politicians and not the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should be held responsible for the recent inconclusive state of elections in the country.

Entwistle made the assertion at a press briefing with selected journalists in Abuja at the weekend.

According to him, rather than blame INEC, Nigerians should hold politicians responsible for the recurring impasse in election results in Kogi and Bayelsa States and others.

The ambassador said: “Politicians often fail to adhere to the principle of nonviolence which leads to disruption of the electoral process.”

INEC had come under severe attacks for declaring elections held in some states inconclusive, especially in Kogi and Bayelsa States,
