The police in Lagos State have arrested a man, identified only as Nathaniel, for allegedly drugging and raping his 14-year-old housemaid in the Ikotun area of the state.

Punch Metro learnt that Nathaniel, who stayed on Ajisegiri Street, in the Egbe area, was arrested by the Ikotun Police Division on Sunday.

It was gathered that the suspect allegedly lured his housemaid, Chinwe (pseudonym), with a cup of juice penultimate Monday, which contained a sedative.

NSCDC Arrests Tanker Driver For Adulterating Fuel

The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a driver, Adebiyi Yusuf, for allegedly engaging in illegal oil bunkering and adulteration of diesel.

Thirty-two-year old Yusuf was apprehended along with one Paul Ifeakandu on Saturday on the premises of a complex on Jimoh Odutola Street, Surulere, Lagos, where they were reportedly selling the product.

 It was gathered that eight drums and 14 jerrycans of adulterated diesel; six drums of chemicals; six pumping machines and two number plates, among other items, were recovered from the premises.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked two members of the House of Representatives from Enugu State.

The sacked legislators, elected to the House on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, are Stella Ngwu representing Igbo-Etti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency and Mr. Dennis Agbo representing Igbo Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency.

Arrest Of Judges-Lawyer Files N50bn Suit On Buhari, DSS, AGF, Others

A Lagos-based activist and legal practitioner, Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje has filed a N50 billion suit against President Muhammadu Buhari, the Department of State Services (DSS) and its Director-General, Lawal Daura over alleged violation of the rights of some judges whose houses were raided  and arrested between October 8 and 9, 2016.

Other defendants named in the suit are Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the National Judicial Council (NJC). Ogungbeje alleged that the clampdown and arrest, without recourse to the NJC, was unlawful and amounted to humiliating them.

Trump Says Election Being Rigged 'At Many Polling Places'

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump dug deeper in his efforts to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the U.S. election, saying on Twitter on Sunday that he believed the results were being "rigged" at many polling places.

His tweet came hours after his vice presidential running mate, Mike Pence, said Republicans would accept the outcome of the Nov. 8 contest between Trump and his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.

"The election is absolutely being rigged by the dishonest and distorted media pushing Crooked Hillary - but also at many polling places - SAD," Trump wrote on Twitter, in the latest of a series of comments he has made over the past several days calling into question the fairness of the election.

Trump, who is trailing Clinton in opinion polls, did not provide any evidence to back his allegations of impropriety at the voting booth

Nigeria Customs Service Dismisses 17 Officers Over Drug Addiction, Others

The spokesperson for Nigeria Customs Service, Wale Adeniyi, has said seventeen junior officers have been dismissed from the Service for offences ranging from drug addiction, certificate forgery, theft and absence from duty from January to September 2016.

“Investigations into offences committed by the officers in the senior category are now being concluded. Officers found guilty are expected to face similar stiff penalties.

Hajj Fraud: Yahaya Bello Suspends Chairman Of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi on Sunday suspended Alhaji Sadiq Rabiu, the Chairman of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, over an allegation of fraud during the just concluded Hajj.

The Director-General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, who disclosed this in a statement in Lokoja, said Rabiu had been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for investigation and possible prosecution.

Fanwo said that the governor was also not happy with the dehumanising treatment of pilgrims from the state during the 2016 Hajj.

“The travails of the chairman stemmed from allegations of corruption, nepotism and blatant disregard to the welfare of the state’s contingent to this year’s pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia,” he said.

24-Hour Curfew Imposed In Kafanchan, Kadun

A 24-hour curfew has been imposed in Kafanchan, Kaduna State after youths set up road blocks and burnt vehicles on Kafanchan-Kagoro road, in retaliation of an attack on Saturday in which 20 people died in Godogodo Chiefdom.

Saturday’s attack was believed to have been carried out by herdsmen who for two months had engaged the locals in series of attacks and counter attacks.

Investigation revealed that several people had been killed during the period and properties worth millions of naira destroyed on both sides.

Dr Bege Katuka, Interim Chairman of Jema’a Local Government disclosed in Kafanchan that the curfew would remain in force until normalcy return to the area.

Fire At Bayelsa BIR Boss’s House Claims Two Lives

A fire outbreak at the residence of the Bayelsa Chairman of Board of Internal Revenuee, Mr Nimibofa Ayawei, on Saturday claimed two lives, witnesses said.

The two victims were Ayawei’s son and his girlfriend, who were in the building, located in Akenfa, a suburb of Yenagoa.

Gunmen Attack Ekiti Police Division, Kill Inspector, Loot Armoury

Ido Division of the Ekiti State police command came under attack by yet to be identified gunmen in the night of Friday and killed a police Inspector on duty and looted the armoury of the police station.

Sources at the police station told newsmen in Ido-Ekiti, headquarters of Ido/Osi Local Government Area of the state, on Saturday that the gunmen numbered about 40 and had shot indiscriminately on entry to the police station premises, causing extensive damage.
