‘Mission Impossible’ Makes Grand Opening

Over the weekend, Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation opened to an unexpected whooping  $56 million in North America where it seemed like Tom Cruise had become unpopular. The movie easily came in No. 1.

 Internationally, the $150 million tentpole launched to even bigger numbers for partners Paramount and Skydance, although we don’t immediately have the final figures.

Unlike other mission impossibke moves, Rogue Nation almost boasted the best three-day weekend opening of any title in the franchise, not accounting for inflation. Guess they made it this time around.
