19-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide Over Relationship
A 19-year-old lady allegedly committed suicide following a quarrel with her lover at Alhaji Ede Avenue in Igando area of Lagos, The deceased, Uche Obiora, was said to have visited her lover’s home over the weekend.
There were, however, different accounts as to how the tragedy struck.
A version of the account said a quarrel ensued between them, over suspicion by Obiora that her boyfriend, Ernest Ihaza, was having an affair with another lady.

Cook Stabs Friend To Death For Reporting Him To Police, After Beeating Up Female Customer
A man, Daniel Okorie, has been arrested by the Lagos State police command for allegedly stabbing his friend, Onyeka Jackson, to death in the Iyana Isashi area of the state.
Punch Metro learnt that Okorie, who worked as a cook, was wanted by the police for beating up a female customer, allegedly killed Jackson for reporting him to the police station.
It was learnt that Okorie stabbed Jackson on the neck when he visited the suspect’s apartment at Clinic Bus stop, Iyana Isashi. It was gathered that the incident occurred around 6.30am on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 and was reported at the Isashi Police Division.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested seven officials in the Federal Ministry of Health for their alleged role in the diversion of over $4m.

The police in Kaduna has arrested two persons, Yahaya Umar and Muhammed Auwal on June 13 for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl.

The governor of Ekiti State, Dr Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday, raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) to impeach him and as well “destabilise the Ekiti State government, using the instrumentalities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other agencies of government.”

A nursing mother and her son were injured in an accident caused by attempt by a policeman to extort N100 from a commercial motorcyclist, Okadaman, in Ondo town, Ondo State.
Eyewitness account said trouble started when a team of anti-crime police officers attached to one of the police stations in the town allegedly mounted a road block in one of the major roads.
Vanguard learned that one of the officers, in an attempt to stop the Okada rider, pulled down the boy and mother, while the motorcycle was in motion. Mother and child were rushed to the hospital, while commercial motorcycle operators staged a peaceful protest to show their displeasure over alleged incessant extortion by policemen in the town.

A singer from the Mexican version of The Voice has died after being shot in an ambush after celebrating his 45th birthday with friends
Alejandro 'Jano' Fuentes was shot in the head three times on Thursday when someone approached the car he was in, and ordered him to get out of the vehicle at gunpoint.
The Chicago Tribune reported that Fuentes refused and the gunman fired multiple shots, leaving him in critical condition as he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 2.07pm. The US newspaper added that police said on Saturday that no one was in custody over the attack.

The challenge started after a blogger on parenting website Life of Dad posted a picture of a sleeping baby with five cheerios on its nose with the caption, "parents of infants, can you top 5? Prove it when you do."
The loops were piled on the baby's nose as he slept on his dad's legs underneath the words, "how high can you go?"

Senate Issues STRONG Warning To President Buhari
The Senate on Sunday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the Attorney-General of the Federal, Mr. Abubakar Malami in order to avoid anarchy in the country.
The upper chamber, through the Chairman of its Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Sen. Sabi Abdullahi gave this warning following the proposed prosecution of Senate President Bukola Saraki, Ike Ekweremamdu and other presiding Officers for allegedly forging the Senate’s standing order used for their elections last year, June 9.
The red chamber described the forgery case instituted against Saraki and his deputy, Ekweremadu, as unconstitutional, and a violation of the principles of separation of powers, checks and balances.

According to reports from Reuters, Mourinho Snr, a retired Portuguese goalkeeper was rushed back to hospital with pneumonia after suffering breathing difficulties and will remain there until Monday at the earliest.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) must apologise for the lies it told against former President Goodluck Jonathan during the build-up of the 2015 elections.

An Egyptian court has sentenced former Egyptian president, Mohamed Morsi to life in prison in an espionage trial in which six of his co-defendants were handed death penalties.
The court acquitted Morsi of charges of having supplied Qatar with classified documents but sentenced him to life for leading an unlawful organisation.
The ousted president was also convicted of having “stolen secret documents concerning state security” and handed another 15-year jail term.

Buhari's Chances Of Healing May Be Slim' -Father Mbaka
Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has disclosed of his recent vision concerning President Muhammadu Buhari’s ailment.

Carl Ducasse, 17, an aspiring attorney set to graduate high school this month, was knifed multiple times in his chest late Friday after an attempted sidewalk robbery turned into a fight when the victim insisted he was broke, he was stabbed by a killer who remained on the run, police said.
“He was never a kid of the streets,” said a weeping Angela Ducasse, the victim’s mother. “He was a regular teenager. He was never arrested. He said he wanted to be a lawyer.
“We already bought his graduation clothes.”
According to cops, Ducasse was about a block from his home when one of the men approached and demanded the teen’s cash. Ducasse, after announcing he had no money, started scuffling with the suspect.
Cops said a knife-wielding man then joined the brawl, fatally stabbing Ducasse before both suspects fled. Cops were looking for a teen from another borough in connection with the killing.
“He went to buy a shake and he told them he didn’t have any money,” said the dead youth’s aunt, Francia Ducasse. “They asked him for $2, and he said he didn’t have any money ... They stabbed him straight in his heart.”
