Ubi Franklin open up on ‘romance’ with Reality star TBoss

Music entrepreneur, Ubi Franklin says there is no romance between him and BBnaija  reality  star, TBoss.

The founder and CEO of Made Men Music Group (Triple MG) said that he was just friends with the Tboss and has never had anything intimate with her. He revealed this on Tuesday in an interview with Daddy Freeze.

There has been speculations on the internet that Ubi was responsible for Tboss’ pregnancy.

He said that the interview was to put to rest speculations.

The music boss , who was once married to popular Nollywood actress, Lilian Esoro, said doesn’t even know where TBoss resides in Abuja.

He advised people to change the mindset and mentality of thinking that a man working with a woman means they have a romantic relationship going on.

“I can tell you this, I never asked TBoss out, I have never done anything with her, you know, I don’t even know where she lives.

“I have never in my life gone to her house…you can ask her, I don’t even know her house. And she is this kind of person that she does not like to disturb people.

“I can be in Abuja and she will know I am in Abuja and she will not call me. Maybe if there is work that she needs to do, she will do it and then she goes.

“We need to correct this perception that if you are working with a girl, that means you are doing something with the girl,” he said.

When he was asked about Tboss’ pregnancy, he replied: “No, it’s not me na”.

Odion Ighalo confirms his retirement from international football with Nigeria

Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo has confirmed his retirement from international football with Nigeria after winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Golden Boot last night.

Allow Court Decide El-Zakzaky’s Fate - Presidency Urge Shiite Members

The Presidency on Friday urged the El- Zakzaky-led Shiite members to allow the court decide the fate of their leader.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, appealed to the Shiite members to desist from needless violent street protests and await the decision of the court in Kaduna where their leader is being tried.

Cows To Recieve Birth Certificate In Uganda

The Ugandan Government has made it mandatory for farmers in the country, to get birth certificates for their cows.Vincent Ssempijja, the country’s Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, announced this on Wednesday. The registration is part of requirements for food exportation to European countries.


“They want to know where the meat and crop products are coming from. They have been impounding and banning all consignments from Uganda if they find one box with issues.


“Farmers will be registered and their products, given barcodes so that if they find a problem with one box, they look for the source and sort out the problem. We cannot enter lucrative markets unless farmers register.


“For cattle farmers, it is going to be worse. You will be registered as a farmer, the cow will be registered, numbered and will have a birth certificate because the importers of our products demand meat for cows aged between 15 to 24 months. So we are going to sell the meat depending on their age,” Ssempijja said at the official opening of the National Agricultural Show in Jinja, Southern Uganda.

President Buhari Approves 5000 Extra Workers For NDLEA

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved recruitment of 5,000 personnel for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to boost its manpower, its chairman Col. Muhammad Abdallah (retd) said.

Abdallah made the disclosure on Friday at the Public Destruction of Drug Exhibits by Taraba Command of NDLEA in Jalingo.

He said that the recruitment would go a long way in improving operations of the agency and the campaign against drug addiction.

He said increased consumption of illicit drugs among the youths in Taraba was worrisome, appealing to families to brace up to their responsibilities.


According to Abdallah, effective drug prevention must involve positive engagement of children, youths and adults with their families, schools, workplace and community.

Drake 'paid' $350,000 to IG model to settle rape claim

Canadian rapper, Drake allegedly paid out $350,000 to a woman who accused him of sexual assault in 2017.


TheBlast.com reported on Wednesday that the amount plus lurid details of the alleged incident have been made public in a complaint filed by Laquana Morris against her New York attorney.


According to the publication, the settlement was made by the rapper even though no charges were brought against him following an investigation by police in Manchester, England.

In her complaint, filed with the New York Attorney Grievance Committee against Alexander Cabereiras, Morris describes what allegedly happened after she and Drake went back to his hotel room following the Manchester concert of his Boy Meets World tour in February 2017.

The former stripper and Instagram model wrote: 'Drake forced me to perform oral on him. It wasn't your ordinary oral it was more so a fetish.'

She then describes how he told her to spit into a cup 'until he had measured it.'


Recall back in June 2017, Morris filed a police report in the UK and hired her attorney in January 2018. But the British refused to pursue a prosecution against Drake citing a lack of evidence, according to documents submitted in her filing.


In September 2018, Drake filed a lawsuit against Morris claiming she had tried to extort him with phony pregnancy and rape claims.


The two parties reached a settlement in November 2018.


According to TheBlast, Morris is aggrieved that the settlement with Drake included a statement, which, she now says, portrayed the Canadian hitmaker as the victim in the situation.

She's also claiming that her attorney worked with Drake's attorney against her best interests.


In response, sources close to the God's Plan rapper told The Blast that by revealing the details of the settlement, which also included a requirement she does not repeat her allegations of sexual assault, Morris is now in breach of said agreement.


Sources suggested that she will have to return the initial payment of $125,000 that was made as well as face possible claims for significant damages from the rapper.

Man confesses He made 200 million in 6 months from kidnapping

A suspected kidnapper, Abubakar Umar, who was arrested by the police and paraded at the Force headquarters in Abuja yesterday June 19th, has recounted how himself and his team made N200 million in six months from ransom collected from their victims.



Speaking to newsmen, Umar said himself and his gang members preferred abducting expatriates who pay heavily in ransom. He told the police he once collected N100 million as ransom from one of the victims of their many operations.



“My job is kidnapping and I operate mainly in Niger and Kebbi states. I operated  with my masters who operate in Sokoto. During one of the operations, we collected N100m  in ransom. We did another operation in Oyo and we realised N50m. For the one in Niger, I kidnapped and collected N4m. After that, I was contacted by an informant who gave me another job and I realised N4m. I got another job in Kebbi where we collected N1m. Another victim we kidnapped didn’t have much money but he was able to pay N500,000 before he was released.” Umar said

US Says- Nigeria’s 2019 General Elections Is Our Topmost Priority

The United States of America has said that Nigeria’s 2019 general election and a peaceful transition in government remains its major priority.

The US Department of State said this during a briefing on the first trip of Rex Tillerson, US secretary of state, to Africa.

It said the election is its priority in view of the country’s strategic position in the African region.

The department expressed hope that African countries currently with democratically elected governments will not have transitions through undemocratic means.

Bad leadership has turned Nigerians into beggars - Legal Icon, Afe Babalola

Legal Icon and Senior Advocate, Chief Afe Babalola, has attributed the pervasive poverty and hunger in Nigeria to bad leadership.



Babalola, who said the culture of begging was alien to the Yoruba race in the past, lamented that bad leadership has turned virtually all Nigerians into beggars, particularly in southwest Nigeria.



In a chat with Vanguard, the founder of  Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, ABUAD, said the Yoruba people had deep resentment for begging in the 40s and 50s, adding that ”today, they have seen begging as a way of life, contrary to what they believed in , because of poverty caused by bad governance.”



Babalola said this in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, when the leadership of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria, PCN, paid a visit to ABUAD on assessment tour of the Pharmacy Department of the newly commissioned 400-bed Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, ABUTH.

2 Teachers Rape ,Infect 10 Students In Lagos

Doctors in an undisclosed hospital in are treating at least 10 students of a Lagos State Government secondary school in Epe,who were infected with Sexually Transmitted  Diseases, after  allegedly being raped by two teachers.

The teachers whose identity could not be ascertained , allegedly took turns to have carnal knowledge of the students .

Report had it that they threatened to fail the students if they refused their demand.

Vanguard was informed that none of the students knew they were infected until one of them complained of an unusual discharge from her private part to her mother.  When taken to a hospital, she was discovered to have been infected with STD.

Another student said to have confided in one of her friends of a similar discharge,discovered that her confidant had similar  problem, they then opened up on the teachers' acts.

Another version had it that one of the students had a verbal confrontation with one of the teachers, after refusing to bow to pressure.

During investigation by the school,other victims as gathered , confirmed thet they were also raped by the teacher on different occasions.


Efforts to get the response of the Lagos State Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, on whether the teachers had been arrested, failed as he promised to reach Vanguard later.

9 Police Officers Arrested For Armed Robbery, Kidnapping

A statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Don Awunah, identified the arrested officers as: ASP Yuguda Abbah, Sgt Habila Sarki, Diphen Nimmyel, Sgt Yasan Danda, Sgt Abbas Mailalle, Sgt Bwanason Tanko, Sgt Donan James, Corporal Idris Salisu and CPL Zakari Kofi.

The dismissed officers were found guilty of unprofessional conduct, aiding and abetting serious crimes like cattle rustling, robbery and kidnapping in the Northeast.


According to the police statement, interrogation and confessions of the dismissed policemen also led to the arrest of principal suspects and recovery of many arms and ammunition.

Bureau De Change Operator Exchanges N1.7m With Fake Dollars

A bureau de change operator, Usman Nafada, has been arrested by the police for allegedly conniving with an accomplice at large to swindle one Abdullahi Uba out of N1.7m.

It was learnt the victim had approached Nafada on November 16, 2016, at the Obalende area of Lagos State to help him change the sum to dollars.

Nafada was said to have told Uba that he did not have hard currency for the exchange. He, however, reportedly collected the money from Uba and took it to his “partner.”

Quack Doctor Arrested After 11 Years' Practice

A quack doctor, Celestine Yolonfun,  has been arrested in the Apapa area of Lagos state after a pregnant woman, who was due for delivery, allegedly died in his hospital, and her husband reported the doctor to the police.

32-year-old Yolonfun had been practicing as a doctor since 2005 after he dropped out of a nursing school in the Benin Republic.

9-Months Pregnant Woman Shot Three Times Survives

A pregnant woman in India was shot three times while she slept in an attempted honour killing - but she managed to survive and delivered the baby with the bullets still inside her.

According to Dailymail, Susheela Kumar, 27, from Mahavir Colony in Haryana, India, and her husband Pradip were attacked by gunmen as they slept at their home.

Pradip and his parents died instantly in the attack on Friday night.
