Secondary School Students Set School Ablaze Over Ban Of Handsets

There was chaos yesterday at the Federal Science and Technical College Dayi, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina State as some students reportedly set the school store, clinic and two other structures ablaze including a library building that was built and donated to the school by Parents Teachers Association (PTA).
According to reports, the students’ action was in reaction to the ban on use of handsets in the school. “You know this principal is strict and has directed that no student should be seen with handsets as it disrupts their learning. Some students who violates the directive had their phones seized. We suspect the students did this to protest that” a source was quoted to have said.
But another source reportedly said the destruction which is the first of its kind in the history of the school was caused by some aggrieved students who were asked to repeat classes following poor performance.
